Historic Garden Week Comes to Little Washington
Posted by: Drew Beard
At the end of April, Little Washington was host to Virginia’s Historic Garden Week for the first time in the program’s 84 year history. The town was teeming with more than 700 visitors who traveled from all over the state and beyond to view five different area homes and gardens, most a short walk or drive from Gay Street Inn. You can read more about the featured homes and gardens here. To add to the excitement, The Inn at Little Washington kicked off its annual Village Market which showcased some phenomenal local farms and artisans, not to mention a great assortment of delicious food trucks to complement the Inn's famous barbecue sandwiches. By all accounts, it was a huge success!
Even though garden week has passed, the Town of Washington and the larger Rappahannock County remain the perfect place to relax and admire Virginia’s natural beauty. Whether it’s strolling the shops on Main Street in the shadow of the Shenandoah National Park or vineyard-hopping over the area's rolling hills, every part of your getaway here is guaranteed to come with an outstanding view.
